About me and my art
Hi! I'm Paxton. I'm a digital illustrator, graphic designer, and lettering artist based in West Hartford, CT.
My artwork is hand-drawn using an ipad and an apple pencil, on Procreate. I like to add textures to my drawings using my own photography, different types of paper, fabric swatches, and leaves. Absolutely no part in anything I make is produced using AI.
Drawing and creating artwork have been part of my life since I was a small child. While a lot of the work I do now is digital, I have experience and education in multiple types of media and techniques. I have been taking art classes, both in and out of school since childhood. My first published design was a cook book cover for my elementary school when I was in kindergarten. I began entering juried art shows as a teen, and was awarded "Best Ceramic Sculpture" in 2004 at age 18.
I'm currently a student at SUNY Empire, and have a certificate from Northwestern Connecticut Community College in Fine Arts (with Phi Theta Kappa honors), and from IAP Career College in Graphic Design. I also have a certificate in Floral Design from IAP, and have taken classes at Tunxis Community College, Manchester Community College, and Central Connecticut State University.
On a more personal note:
I have three cats (Hufflepuff, Moonmoon, and Judah), a rescue dog named Ciara, two pet turtles (Charlie and Gil), a fish and a snail. My favorite color is yellow.
I live with a type of muscular dystrophy called Mitochondrial Complex 1 Deficiency, and I am on the autism spectrum.
