About me
Hi! My name is Paxton. I'm an illustrator, graphic designer, and lettering artist from West Hartford, CT. I have been drawing and creating things since I was very little. My first published work was at age 5, a drawing of a cupcake that was selected to be on the cover of my the Wolcott Elementary School cookbook. I attended Conard High school, where I began entering juried art shows as a freshman. I was awarded best ceramic sculpture in my senior art show.
I graduated from Northwestern Connecticut Community College with Phi Theta Kappa honors and earned a certificate in Fine Arts. I've also taken classes at Tunxis Community College and Central Connecticut State University. I'm currently a student at SUNY Empire. I also have diplomas in graphic design and floral design from IAP Career College. While most of the work I do now is digital, I have experience and education drawing with graphite, charcoal, ink, and watercolors, as well as ceramic and multimedia sculpture.
I have three cats named Hufflepuff, Moonmoon, and Judah, a small dog who thinks she's a cat named Ciara, two turtles named Charlie and Gil, a betta fish named Coral, and a snail named Challah.
About my art
All of my art is hand drawn/hand made. Most of it is drawn on my iPad using the Procreate app and an apple pencil. I also use different paper textures and textures from my own macro photography. I like whimsey and playfulness in my art. I have two little skeletons named Bones and Dandelion that show up in some drawings, and I tend to add a lot of small references to various things. If it's in a drawing, it's there on purpose.
A lot of my art revolves around my own experiences living with disabilities (muscular dystrophy and autism), my beliefs and spirituality (Italkim Jewish, but also kind of witchy), my own ancestry, which is Irish, Welsh, and Québécois, on one side, and Italian/Sicilian, Sardinian, Maltese, and Anatolian (Turkish) on the other. (plus 13th generation New Englander and the descendant of a pilgrim, two witches, a Hartford founder, and Noah Webster!) and my literal autistic interest in maps.
Nothing that I create or will create has been tainted by AI.
